Rains in delta areas; water release from Mettur dam reduced

: Water release from Mettur dam for irrigation in delta areas was reduced today from 21,000 cusecs to 17 000 cusecs due to good rain in these areas.

There was also a reduction in inflows from 11,271 cusecs to 7529 cusecs and in outflow from 21,700 cusecs to 17,600 cusecs. The dam level stood at 108.6 feet, PWD sources said.
