Chandigarh, joint capital of Punjab and Haryana, recorded a high of 31 deg Celsius, the MeT Department report said here. The city received by 6.4 mm of rains.
In Haryana, Ambala recorded a high of 30.3 deg C, three notches below normal while Hisar, Karnal and Narnaul also recorded maximums of 34 deg C, 28.8 deg C and 31.5 deg C respectively, up to four notches below normal.
Ambala recorded rainfall of 19 mm.
In Punjab, Amritsar's maximum settled at 30.5 deg C, three notches below normal while Ludhiana and Patiala recorded maximums of 29.9 deg C and 31 deg C, up to three notches below normal. Patiala received 46 mm of rainfall.
