Rajasthan government is hopeful of getting 'in principle' nod from Asian Development Bank (ADB) and World Bank for loan proposals regarding the development of nearly 20,000-km long highway in the state, Public Works Minister Yunus Khan said today
Khan said nod from ADB for loan proposal worth Rs 1,899 crore for five highways in Kota, Jaipur, Bharatpur and Ajmer divisions was expected soon.
Also, World Bank's approval for proposal worth Rs 3,000 crore for the development of state highways in Bikaner, Udaipur and Jodhpur divisions was also likely, he added.
He further said that work on the ambitious project to improve the network of highways under East-West corridor in the state, as announced in the budget, has started.
He mentioned that work on a road from Haryana border to Jaisalmer will also be taken up under the project which will reduce the distance between Jaisalmer and Delhi by nearly 100 kms.
