Urban Development Minister Rajpal Singh said in the House that if a private developer cheats people and does not allot plot or flat despite getting money, police action is needed and parties concerned should lodge complaints with police.
During the Zero Hour, ruling BJP MLA Ramhet Yadav raised the issue of alleged fraud by private developers in Alwar and demanded action by the government.
Yadav informed the House that there are around 25,000 such victims who had paid money to the developers to purchase land or flat but the developers disappeared after selling the land to some other developers.
The Minister said the matter will come in the purview of the UDH department only if the map is sanctioned by the authority concerned and there is no construction at the site within five years.
However, Singh said that he will look into the matter and the department would file a complaint with police if anything wrong was found.
Intervening in the matter, Home Minister Gulabchand Kataria said the police will be able to take action only if there is a complaint against anyone. He also suggested that victims should file a police complaint.
Replying to a question, Saini said the issue came to his notice during his visit to Chittorgarh some time back after which he sent a high-level committee to look into the issue.
The government will take action if certified seed is being disturbed or there is adulteration or other irregularity.
