Raj Kanojia appointed new DG(IB) in Bengal
Press Trust of India Kolkata In a reshuffle in the IPS cadre, the West Bengal Government has appointed senior police officer Raj Kanojia as the DG (Intelligence Branch).
In addition, the 1982 batch IPS officer Kanojia would continue to coordinate and supervise the overall situation in North Bengal and also look after the matters related to coastal security for the state, state Home Department officials said today.

Later in the day, two IPS officers were also transferred.
Raj Karan Nayar, posted as SDPO in Kandi, Murshidabad, was made ACP in the Siliguri Police Commissionerate and Pushpa, posted as SDP in Bongaon in North 24 Parganas district, was made ACP in the Howrah Police Commissionerate, officials said.
Besides them, six other police officers were also transferred.
