Out of the total 144 posts in the department, 41 were vacant and the process to fill the posts will be undertaken, MoS for Science and Technology Rajkumar Sharma said during the Question Hour.
This came in response to a question by legislator Hanuman Beniwal who had asked about the number of vacant posts and budget of the department.
Sharma also said that Rajasthan government is making efforts to develop scientific temperament among students by holding science fairs which are receiving encouraging response.
The number of students in the fairs was 34,000 in the first year and 65,000 in the second year, held last year, Sharma said.
