Highlighting the role of women, Rathore said yesterday that it was because of the immense support extended to him by his mother and wife that he could win the Olympic Medal when he was in the Army.
He said that women have excelled in all fields and have made everyone proud of their achievements.
The minister was speaking at the Special Outreach Programme on 'Beti Bachao Beti Padhao' organised by Directorate of Field Publicity, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting at Dhankya, near Jaipur.
Rathore also inaugurated a three-day exhibition 'Ek Bharat Shreshta Bharat' and released a special cover on 'Beti Bachao Beti Padhao' campaign.
Urban Development and Housing Minister of Rajasthan Rajpal Singh Shekhawat was also present on the occasion.
