Actor Ralph Fiennes has warned James Bond fans not to take Daniel Craig's controversial remarks about walking away from the franchise too seriously.
The man behind 007 hit the headlines in October when he said that he'd rather "break this glass and slash my wrists," than play Bond again.
His remarks sent shockwaves through Hollywood as bloggers and editors alike started speculating about his successor, reported Contactmusic.
But Fiennes, who plays Bond's boss, M, in new film "Spectre" feels confident Craig will be back, insisting his castmate's negative comments were just the result of fatigue.
"Daniel is filming for something, like, seven months and he's in virtually 95 per cent of the film and does all his own stunts," Fiennes revealed during an appearance on US talk show "Watch What Happens Live".
"So I think anything he says after that is (from) a man who has a certain version of post traumatic stress syndrome. He carries the film, he gives an amazing performance, so I take all of that with a pinch of salt. I think you have to recognise that this is a guy who has given 200 per cent of his life, everything, to inhabiting Bond and I think, at the end of it, he is just shooting from the hip."
Craig made his debut as 007 in 2006's "Casino Royale". He has also played the suave superspy in "Quantum of Solace" and 2012's "Skyfall", the most successful Bond movie in franchise history.
