Ranjana Saikia, who was the head of the three-member committee, which found former Director General R K Pachauri guilty of alleged sexual harrassment, confirmed to PTI that she had resigned but did not give any reason behind for her resignation.
"Yes, it is true that I have resigned," Saikia told PTI over phone. "No," she said, when asked whether any reason was given for tendering her resignation.
Sources said that Saikia gave her resignation on Monday after which TERI is learnt to have reconstituted the committee.
Earlier, a researcher at TERI had accused Pachauri of sexually harassing her at work.
On February 13, an FIR was registered against Pachauri on charges of sexual harassment under IPC sections 354, 354(a), 354(d) (molestation) and 506 (criminal intimidation).
TERI governing council had on July 23 appointed Dr Ajay Mathur, currently the director general of Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE), as its Director General.
Pachauri had also stepped down from United Nations' IPCC and Prime Minister's Council on Climate Change.
Pachauri was recently allowed by a Delhi court to travel to Kazakhstan for a conference on climate change.
