25-year-old man to seven-year rigorous imprisonment for raping a minor girl three years ago.
Principal District Judge S Baskaran also imposed a fine of Rs 1,000 on the man.
Prosecution said the man befriended the 15-year-old girl at Theevapatty village and promised to marry her.
He then raped her on February 28, 2010. The girl informed her father, who lodged a complaint with police.
