The Union Minister of state for Information and Broadcasting Rajyavardhan Rathore today condemned the incident in which crude bombs were hurled at the office of a popular Tamil TV channel and termed the act as "unacceptable".
"This is not acceptable in our country. The programmes of television are governed by a programe code which is part of the Cable Television Networks Rules, 1994.
"Viewers are free to write to us (I&B ministry), to the News Broadcasters Association, Broadcasting Content Complaints Council (BCCC) or to Advertising Standards Council of India (ASCI) if its regarding any advertisement if they feel. Nobody is allowed to take law in his hand," Rathore said.
Suspected members of a fringe right-wing outfit today threw crude bombs at the local office of a popular Tamil TV news channel over a proposed interactive show on 'Thaali' (Mangal Sutra).
Four motorcycle-borne men hurled two crude bombs packed in tiffin boxes early today but no one was injured in the attack caught on CCTV cameras, police said.
A senior police official said police teams had zeroed in on the culprits and they would be arrested soon.
