RBI sets rupee reference rate at Rs 65.02 against dollar

The exchange rates for pound and yen against the rupee were quoted at 99.88 and 54.26 per 100 yens, respectively

The Reserve Bank of India today fixed the reference rate of the rupee at 65.0215 against the US dollar and 73.9164 for the euro. These rates were 64.7260 and 73.5999 respectively, yesterday.

According to an RBI statement, the exchange rates for pound and yen against the rupee were quoted at 99.8860 and 54.26 per 100 yens, respectively, based on reference rates for the dollar and cross-currency quotes at noon.

The SDR-rupee rate will be based on this rate, the statement added.
