While discussing his research based on RCP at the International Conference on Ecotoxicology and Environmental Sciences here, Prof Mukesh Kumar, who hails from Rajasthan, said the vaccine can be used as a potential birth control method for both women and men.
"RCP-based vaccines are in a very advanced stage of development, which may provide additional choice for contraceptive users (as there is no contraceptive vaccine to date) with many advantages over the currently available birth control methods," Prof Mukesh said at the conference which started yesterday.
"Birth control technology has played and is playing a very important role in limiting the family size and thereby controlling the population of the world," it says.
