A record-breaking 4,500 people flooded the Hollywood Boulevard when Latin American music icon Selena Quintanilla was honoured with her Walk of Fame star.
The Queen of Tejano music received the posthumous recognition on November 5 at the Vine Street.
Quintanilla was honoured with the 2,622nd star on the Walk of Fame.
According to Variety, the number of people in attendance broke the previous record of 4,000 people set by Vincete Fernandez, Mexican mariachi singer in 1998.
"This is history in the making," said LA Mayor Eric Garcetti at the podium.
"Desperate Housewives" star Eva Longoria and Edward James Olmos, who played the singer's father, Abraham, in a 1997 film about her life, also attended the event.
The ceremony was concluded in Quintanilla's words by her sister, Suzette, "The goal isn't to live forever, but to create something that will.
