Red alert sounded in unprotected embankment areas

The Jalpaiguri district administration today sounded red alert in the unprotected embankment areas of Tista river between Domohani and Bangladesh border.
District administration officials said the red alert was sounded following rising of the river water due to incessant rains for the past few days.
Besides, yellow alert was sounded in the protected embankment areas, the officials said.
