The company will target the women segment and for this it has roped in Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut as brand ambassador who launched its second FitHub store here.
"We have plans to open 10 FitHub stores pan India in next one year. We are not planning massively (for opening stores). We want to grow in quality not in numbers," Reebok India, Senior Marketing Director, Silvia Tallon said today.
"We are only focusing on fitness segment. Running, training and out of training, we are covering multiple discipline. We have decided to go for niche and emerging categories mixed martial arts, which is a growing category," the Senior Marketing Director said.
We are partnering with Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) at global level and India has 11 million fans for it. This sport has potential in India and we are the only brand which is partnering with UFC. We have clear focus on combat area, specilaised Yoga, studio and regular work out, she further said.
Women segment is another area of the company's focus, said Tallon who joined the company in April to spearhead Brand Reebok in India.
"Woman (consumers) is one of the growing focus areas and that is why we chose actress Kangana Ranaut as our brand ambassador. We feel she really represents fitness, she is fearless and she is the right choice for Reebok brand," she said.
Tallon also said, "She connects very well with wide audience. Not only from sports but also women who wanted to be part of fitness.
