"We have given some suggestions to the Centre in this regard. Government is working seriously on this issue," Rajendra Kumar, secretary of Urban Development department, told reporters here.
Kumar, however, refused to divulge details about the suggestions.
In September 2012, the Delhi government had regularised 895 unauthorised colonies out of 1,639 such settlements, but the remaining around 750 unauthorised colonies are yet to get permanent tag.
In July this year, Union Urban Development Minister M Venkaiah Naidu had said that Delhi government has issued orders for development work to be carried out in these 895 colonies, which were identified by it for regularisation.
Ahead of Delhi Assembly elections, political parties are taking up the issue of unauthorised colonies, demanding permanent tag for them.
Delhi BJP chief Satish Upadhyay recently raised this issue before Naidu demanding the regularisation of such colonies.
Meanwhile, giving details of future projects of Delhi Jal Board, its CEO Vijay Kumar said that 95 MGD of raw water is expected from commissioning of Munak Canal, adding that DJB would sign MoU with Singapore government for exploring 40 MGD Tertiary Sewage treatment plant at Coronation Pillar to produce water of drinking quality.
