Though it is welcome that the state topped in the rankings, the focus should be on achieving "results on the ground" rather than on "awards, rewards and publicity", the Congress leader stated in a release.
The government claimed the top rank as a result of its liberalised and simplified policies (with permissions having been given to 2,500 companies in the last two-and-half years), but the government should state the investment that has come, the jobs it has generated and the number of Telangana youth who got employment, Shabbir said.
Shabbir also asked the TRS government as to why it was not trying to achieve top rank in agriculture.
Telangana came at ninth rank among 30 states in the agricultural index announced by NITI Ayog.
