RAPE -------- Rewari(Haryana): Two persons were booked for allegedly raping a married woman at gunpoint in November last year at Kharkhara village in the district, police said today. The victim(32), who is the wife of a security guard in a private company, was raped by Vijender and another unidentified person at her rented house on November 18 last year, they said. The duo also looted cash and jewellery from her house. Further probes are on into the case, police added. -------------------------------------------------------------- CHARAS --------- Chandigarh: Four drug smugglers were arrested and charas worth Rs one crore in the international market were seized from their possession near village Bahlamba in Rohtak district, police said here today. Acting on a tip-off, the police nabbed the jeep-borne smugglers and recovered 199 kg of contraband from their possession, they said. A case has been registered against the accused under Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act(NDPS), police said, adding that further probes are on. -------------------------------------------------------------- PORTAL --------- Chandigarh: Haryana Urban Local Bodies Department today launched its web portal which will enable the people to get their grievances redressed online. On the occasion, Principal Secretary, Haryana Urban Local Bodies Department, P Raghavendra Rao said with the portal's launch, all municipal corporations and councils in the state would be made online within next four weeks. Necessary civic services like registration of births and deaths and issue of their certificates, transfer of property, information regarding property tax or house tax and information of area wise development activities would be available on this portal, he added.
