IAS officer Tukaram Mundhe has been transferred yet again by the Maharashtra government, barely a month after his previous posting.
A government release said Thursday that Mundhe has been posted as Project Director at the Maharashtra State AIDS Control Society, Mumbai.
Mundhe had been shunted out as Nashik municipal commissioner and posted as Joint Secretary (Planning) in Mantralaya (state secretariat) on November 22.
The 2005 officer, known for his no-nonsense ways, has often clashed with public representatives in his previous postings and faced at least a dozen transfers so far.
In the latest reshuffle, Rubal Prakher-Agarwal (2008 batch), currently Chief Executive Officer of the Saibaba temple trust at Shirdi, has been posted as Additional Municipal Commissioner, Pune, the release by the General Administration Department said.
Agarwal will replace Sheetal Telhi-Ugale (2009), who has been transferred as Chairman, Nagpur Metropolitan Region Development Authority.
Balaji Manjule, an Andhra Pradesh-cadre IAS officer of the 2009 batch, has been posted as Commissioner for Persons with Disabilities.
When Mundhe was removed as Nashik commissioner, people had staged a protest seeking cancellation of his transfer.
When he was Navi Mumbai commissioner, the NCP-headed civic body had passed a no-confidence motion against him in October 2016. He had ordered a crack-down on unauthorised constructions in Navi Mumbai, a satellite city of Mumbai.
In early 2017, he was transferred from Navi Mumbai and posted as Chairman and Managing Director of Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal (PMPML), a civic transport body. In February this year, Mundhe took charge as Nashik commissioner.
