Kotabommali mandal revenue inspector Balajee Srinivas was caught red handed by Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) sleuths on Wednesday while accepting a bribe, ACB sources said.
According to Srikakulam division Deputy Superintendent of Police (ACB) Sri Ranga Raju, revenue inspector Balajee Srinivas was caught red handed while accepting a bribe of Rs 1,500 each from Bagadi Murali and Bagadi Sateesh for issuing birth certificates of their wards.
Allegedly, Murali and Sateesh had requested Srinivas several times to issue birth certificates since their children's school admissions had begun, but he demanded Rs 2,500 from each one of them.
However, they "settled" the bribe amount at Rs 1,500 each and also approached ACB officials who laid a trap for Srinivas.
After recovering the bribe amount from Srinivas, ACB officials arrested him and took him to Visakhapatnam in order to produce him before the Special Court for ACB cases.
