Revive dormant institution, else will close them down: Bharati

Union Water Resources Minister Uma Bharati today directed revival of dormant institutions functioning under her ministry else they will be closed down.
"All efforts should be made to revive the dormant institutions. If this is not possible then we may close them down," Bharati was quoted as saying in a press release here.
She was reviewing the working of all the institutions under her ministry during the weekly review meeting.
Commenting on the performance of Flood Management Programme (FMP), the Minister said states like Jammu and Kashmir, Uttrakhand and Assam required special attention.
She directed the officials that keeping in view the recent floods and natural calamities in the states, special efforts should be made to complete all pending FMP projects in these States, the release added.

Referring to the timely utilisation of budget allocation Bharati said that the entire amount should be spent through increased co-operation with the states.
If any state has problems about a certain project, it should be sorted out in consultation with the concerned States, she added.
