Rice basmati weakens on easing demand

In restricted activity, rice basmati prices fell by Rs 100 per quintal at the wholesale grains market today owing to easing demand against adequate stocks position.
However, other grains held steady in thin trade.
Traders said fall in demand from retailers at prevailing levels mainly led to decline in rice basmati prices.
In the national capital, rice basmati common and Pusa-1121 variety declined by Rs 100 each to Rs 8,400-8,500 and Rs 6,800-8,100 per quintal respectively.
