A day after being declared as the consensus candidate of the Democratic Alliance of Nagaland (DAN) comprising the NPF, BJP and JD(U), Rio through a statement appealed to all sections of the people, including political parties to extend their support and solidarity for his candidature "so that collectively we can address the problems and issues facing our people in a united manner."
Thanking all sections of the people for reposing their confidence in his leadership, he appealed to one and all to extend their blessings to him and support his candidature.
He especially thanked Shurhozelie, President of the NPF and DAN Chairman, for his continued support and tremendous efforts in strengthening his leadership.
Rio was official declared the consensus candidate of DAN after a closed door meeting of the three partners on Thursday.
