Rio writes to Raju over Dimapur airport

Lone Member of Lok Sabha from Nagaland, Neiphiu Rio has drawn the attention of the Union Minister of Civil Aviation, P A Gajapathi Raju towards Dimapur airport which has been equipped and authorized for night landing with the Instrument Landing System (ILS) facility but has not been utilised.
The night landing facility has not been utilised by commercial flights in Dimapur, which causes great inconvenience and harassment to travellers who are totally dependent on the airport and Air India, Rio said in a letter addressed to the Union Minister yesterday.
Further, Rio, who is also a former Nagaland Chief Minister asked the minister to take appropriate action against those officials responsible for causing inconvenience to Dimapur-bound passengers on December 13 at Kolkata airport.

Rio highlighted that Dimapur-bound passengers had to sit inside the aircraft for more than two hours after several hours of delay to be finally informed that the flight has been cancelled.
Rio also urged upon the Union minister to issue instructions to the aviation authorities to avoid such occurrences in future.
