The 64-year-old actor posted Douglas' photographs on Twitter and thanked him for his contribution to the world of cinema.
"'Spartacus' #Kirk Douglas turns 100. You only live once to be a centurion. Thank you Mr Cleft Chin for all the memorable films," he wrote.
Douglas, best known for his classic films like "Spartacus", "Lust for Life" and "Paths of Glory", the actor celebrated the milestone age with wife Anne, son Michael Douglas, daughter-in-law Catherine Zeta-Jones and other members of the family at the Beverly Hills Hotel in Los Angeles.
