RJD supporters today burnt the effigy of JD(U) minister Bhim Singh's for his remarks 'the soldiers being recruited to lay down their lives for the nation' which he subsequently apologised for, in a village of Bihar's Saran district.
A group of RJD workers led by Manoj Yadav and Kunal Yadav gathered in Newari village and raised slogans against Singh, who is the Rural Works and Panchayati Raj Minister in the Nitish Kumar government, before burning his effigy to protest against his insensitive remarks that 'the soliders are recruited to lay down their lives for the nation'.
Apparently not satisfied with the apology tendered by the minister, the protesters urged the Chief Minister to sack Singh who has courted controversy on several issues in the past.
The RJD supporters dispersed after burning Singh's effigy in Newari village located about 4-5 kms away from one of the slain jawan Raghunandan Prasad native Nautan village.
The RJD supremo Lalu Prasad is slated to visit Nautan village to console the jawan's grieving family members later in the day.
