The 51-year-old actor, who has played the iconic hero in seven films thus far, has confirmed that he is returning yet again for the next installment in the 'Avengers' series.
"We have a start date! That's, you know, when you start shooting. So, I have yet to be released from my Marvel contract," he said.
Downey already wrapped filming on his eighth performance as the billionaire industrialist in the upcoming "Spider-Man: Homecoming," where he appears opposite Tom Holland, the latest actor to don the web slinger's famous red and blue bodysuit after Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire.
"I was (always) in a good mood when I was shooting my little bit in (Homecoming), so that must mean it's an excellent motion picture," Downey added.
