Rs 85 lakh cash in Rs 2K notes seized from one person

The crime branch of city police today seized Rs 85 lakh cash in Rs 2,000 notes from a person at Matunga in central Mumbai, police said.
The cash was seized by unit 5 of the crime branch from Babasaheb Ambedkar road this afternoon, Mumbai Police spokesperson Ashok Dudhe said.

The Crime Branch had detained a few people in connection with seizure of currency, a police official said.
DCP Dudhe said the police had informed the Income Tax Department about the seizure and were getting the assistance from the Department in the probe.
