Rs 19 lakh seized from farmer in Bhopal

Cash amounting to Rs 19 lakh was seized from a farmer in the city during a checking exercise being conducted in view of the ongoing elections, police said today.
The money was seized from one Maharaj Singh, a resident of Khajuri Sadak in the city, under the Sukhi Sewaniya police station limits of the city yesterday.
Police said Singh told them that he was taking the money to make payment to a person.
The seized amount was handed over to the Income Tax Department for further verification, they added.
