Rs 45 lakh hawala money seized, three taken into custody

In two separate incidents, hawala money in 500 and 1000 rupees denomination to the tune of Rs 41.76 lakh was seized and three persons taken into custody during vehicle check at Koduvally, near here, police said today.
Police who conducted a vehicle check today on a tip-off, intercepted two bike borne youth, coming from Kunnamangalam to Kozhikode, at the Koduvally bus stand and seized Rs 11.76 lakh from their possession.
The duo, Faizal (37) and Abdul Gafoor (35) both of Koduvally native, have been taken into custody and they will be produced before the court tomorrow, Koduvally police said. In another incident yesterday at the same spot, Rs 30 lakh was seized from a person who came by a car also from Kunnamangalam to Kozhikode.

The currencies were kept hidden at his waist, they said, adding, he was produced before the first class judicial magistrate court at Kunnamangalam and remanded.
