RSP achivement

The Rourkela Steel Plant
(RSP) today said its Hot Strip Mill (HSM) has achieved an all time record monthly dispatch of 101184 tonnes of HR Coils in last month which is the best since inception.
The previous monthly record of HR Coil dispatch of 92506 tonnes was achieved in March, 2014, RSP said in a statement.
This record monthly dispatch of HR Coils was made possible with contributions and support of all concerned service departments working in close coordination and in tandem with HSM, it said.
Among other factors which helped for the achievement were the availability of wagons throughout the month, flow of orders and consistent production of the desired quality for meeting the customers' requirements, it said.

Another facilitating feature was the installation of an additional two welding machines in the FG bay of HSM which helped to expedite bracing/ securing of the Railway wagons.
RSP has taken several initiatives to enhance the performance of HSM both in quantity and quality. Ten of the major customers of Hot Rolled Coils from Kolkata, Bhubaneswar and Rourkela who were invited recently to the Plant had opined that the product and services were of excellent quality.
Congratulating the employees for the achievement, Ashwini Kumar, CEO of RSP said consistent production and dispatch from Hot Strip Mill (HSM) is a key factor for the plant's profitability.
