The RSS will hold a 'chakka jam' here on July 9 to demand that temples which were shifted due to work of Jaipur Metro Rail and broadening of roads be relocated back to their original place.
"Barring essential services' vehicles, Chakka Jam will be observed and people would be requested not to run their vehicles or even bike from 9 to 11 am on July 9 in entire Jaipur city", RSS spokesman said.
So far 84 temples were shifted from their original places
in Jaipur in a joint operations of Jaipur Municipal Corporation, Jaipur Development Authority and Jaipur Metro Rail Corporation, he said, adding there was a list of 400 temples (including 84) to be shifted elsewhere.
Dharohar Bachao Sangarsh Samiti and Mandir Bacho Sangarsh Samiti have already been protesting against the move since last year in the city. RSS has come openly in the support of these Saimiti for Chakka jam on the demand to replace the shifted temples to their original places which were very ancient and having historic and religious importances to Hindus, he said.
Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje recently held a high level meeting directing the officials of JMC, JDA and JMRC that they should take extra-precaution and seek permission to shift any temple or religious place.
At a public meeting in Dausa yesterday, former Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot said, "It is surprising that RSS now woke up after shifting of 350 temples. It showed RSS and BJP government have hands in gloves".
In a statement, Gehlot said,"If a single temple had been demolished or shifted elsewhere during Congress regime, these would people have created situation for clashes by flaring people's sentiments".
