Ruckus at Nitish's Janata Durbar

Indrakala Devi, hailing from a village in Darbhanga district, alleged that local police had taken bribe from other party to deny her justice in a dispute over land.

Devi raised slogans against police in front of the chief minister before she was taken out of the venue by women security personnel.

Three other women, identified as Rekha Devi, Sanju Devi and Pratima Devi, natives of a locality under Ramkrishna Nagar police station in Patna district, squatted before him alleging apathy by the local police to deal with their problems.

An angry Kumar directed officials to return applications of the protesting women apparently suggesting that there was no need for him to address their grievances if they could get the same sorted out by creating scenes at his janata durbar and attract attention of news channels.

The chief minister appeared perturbed over live telecast of the unruly scenes and apparently instructed officials to push back TV cameramen.

Another visitor Raju Rajak, a resident of Rajendra Nagar locality in the state capital, also created scenes before Kumar alleging that the police was harassing him in the custodial death case of his brother Rudal Rajak.

Amid the din, the chief minister sat for extra couple of hours to dispose of all applications.

Later talking to reporters, Kumar said outpouring of emotions by the visitors was a normal thing and they should be given opportunity to air their grievances.
