Sharma, who today took over the charge, replaced A B Agrawal who was Chairman for a period of about five years.
Sharma is a Civil Engineering Graduate from Punjab Engineering College, Chandigarh and joined Haryana Irrigation & Water Resources Department in 1980 as Sub Divisional Officer, an official release said.
While working in Haryana Irrigation & Water Resources Department, he has monitored various canal regulation related O&M and new hydraulic structures, pump houses, canal and drainage network, NABARD projects etc.
During working as Chief Engineer of BSL Project, he has been instrumental in successfully running of dredger and other allied works, besides running and maintenance of BSL Water Conductor System.
