The state on the whole has recorded excess rains so far. According to the IMD, against a normal average of 76.51 mm rains between June 1 and July 5, the state has recorded 98.33 mm during the period.
Of the total 33 districts, Churu, Hanumangarh, Jaipur, Jhunjhunu, Rajsamand and Sikar have recorded abnormal rains (60 per cent or more) rains while Sriganganagar has recorded scant (that is - 60 per cent or less).
Twelve other districts - Alwar, Ajmer, Baran, Bharatpur, Bhilwara, Bikaner, Chittorgarh, Dausa, Dungarpur, Nagaur, Sawaimadhopur and Udaipur - have recorded excess rains (20 per cent to 59 per cent).
Remaining nine districts - Banswara, Bundi, Jhalawar, Jodhpur, Karauli, Kota, Pali, Tonk, Pratapgarh - have received normal rains.
