SAC approves relief for victims of 2014 J&K floods

Jammu and Kashmir Governor N N Vohra today approved financial assistance under Prime Minister's Development Package (PMDP) for people whose houses were damaged in the September 2014 floods.
The State Administrative Council (SAC) which met here under the chairmanship of the Governor gave nod to the Package under which a fully damaged pucca house will get Rs 2.50 lakh as compensation and a fully damaged kacha house Rs 1 lakh.
Also, Rs 1.25 lakh will be given to a severely damaged pucca house and Rs 50,000 to severely damaged kacha house.
The SAC also directed that the list of damaged houses be reconciled by the Deputy Commissioners with the data regarding the same available with the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMS) which has transferred the financial assistance out of Prime Minister's National Relief Fund (PMNRF) into the bank account numbers of affected.

The Council also directed that the relief in cases of damaged houses under PMDP-2015 be transferred through DBT into the official bank accounts of respective Deputy Commissioners for further disbursement to the affectees.
