The SAD being a key constituent of the NDA was strongly with the BJP and the alliance between them was firm as always, the Chief Minister said.

Earlier, addressing a gathering during the annual Baisakhi conference, the Chief Minister said that the Congress has always meted out step-motherly treatment with Punjab.
He alleged that the successive Congress governments at the Centre had always ignored the interests of state.
The Chief Minister blamed the "adverse" policies of the Union government for deplorable conditions of farmers, saying that peasantry was reeling under a debt of Rs 32,000 crore.
