SAD refuses to join issues with Advani on NDA's poll prospects

"SAD is part of NDA and whatever decision is taken by NDA, it is binding on us," party president and Punjab Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal said.

His comments came in the wake of the veteran BJP leader's remarks regarding a "non-BJP, non-Congress" Prime Minister after the 2014 general elections.

Sukhbir was addressing a news conference here after inaugurating the railway over bridge on the Sambhu-Patiala road via Ghnaour.

Writing in his blog yesterday, Advani had ruled out formation of a government headed by the Third Front but said that a non-Congress, non-BJP Prime Minister heading a government supported by one of these two parties is possible.

"A non-Congress, non-BJP Prime Minister heading a government supported by one of these two principal parties is, however, feasible. This has happened in the past also," he had said but cautioned that such a dispensation may not last long.

Sukhbir, however, brushed aside the possibility of any disagreement with its alliance partner BJP in the state.

He said every decision of the Punjab government has been taken by joint consultations between SAD and its ally BJP.
