Salary, wages only in bank accounts: UT Chandigarh

UT Chandigarh Labour Commissioner today directed all the employers of shops and commercial establishments to make payment of employees' wages or salaries only in their bank accounts.
The commissioner issued instruction that all the employers of shops and commercial establishments including factories, industries to make payment of wages or salaries or any kind of financial benefit to their employees only in their respective bank accounts.
Strict compliance of these orders shall be made in letter and spirit, said an official release.
Special camps are being organized by the banks for opening new accounts for those employees who have not opened their bank accounts yet, it further said.
