Sales tax dept officer robbed of his mobile phone

An Assistant Commissioner of sales tax department was robbed of his mobile phone by four miscreants here who also beat him up when he resisted them, police said today.
The incident happened yesterday in Kalyanpur area here, they said.
Assistant Commissioner Rakesh Shukla was on his way home from his office when four youths on motorbikes came and snatched his cell phone, Superintendent of Police Kanpur (Rural) Surendra Tiwari said.
Shukla was beaten up when he tried to resist them, he said.
A case has been registered in this regard, the SP said, adding, efforts are on to nab the miscreants.
