NGO Sambhav has entered into a technical collaboration with US-based Mac's Kung Fu Instituteis to introduce a specially-designed survival technique programme for women.
"The programme is the first in the country to train women to protect themselves against eve-teasing," Sambhav secretary Atreyee Dutta said.
In a pilot project, Sambhav will conduct free of cost workshops for at least 2,500 girls by this year end, she said.
West Bengal sports minister Madan Mitra, education minister Bratya Basu and technical education minister Ujjal Biswas applauded the cause while formally inaugurating the pilot project today.
