Samriti wins singles, Himani-Dakshta pair wins doubles

Second seed Samriti Punyani won the singles title while Himani Mor and Dakshata Patel lived up to the top billing by clinching the doubles trophy of the Tribune Cup, an AITA ranking tournament, here today.
Delhi's Samriti beat Haryana's Neeru Rapria 6-4 7-5 in the summit clash at CLTA complex.
Himani, who hails from Haryana, combined with Maharashtra's Dakshta to pip Samriti and MP's Anjali Thakur 6-4 6-3 in the final.
It is first time that Himani has teamed up with Dakshta.
It was Himani's fifth title of the season. She previously won doubles trophies in Gurgaon and Karnal apart from pocketing both singles and doubles events in Yamuna Nagar.

The 17-year-old also enjoyed two runners-up finishes in singles events of Yamunanagar and Gurgaon.
