Samtel Avionics, Hanwha Systems form defence partnership

Samtel Avionics, a leading manufacturer of high-technology products for avionics and military applications, today announced collaboration with Korean firm Hanwha Systems to work together on guided missiles, radar and laser guided bombs among others.
Hanwha Systems, as a defence electronics company has maintained a leading role in advancing the defence capabilities of Korea.
The firm is capable of providing total solutions for ground, naval and air Command, Control, Communication, Computer & Intelligence (C4I), guided weapon, Electronic Warfare (EW) and future combat systems. Based on technical development capabilities and know-how for radar, optronic, command and fire control system products in the ground systems domain, a company statement said.
Puneet Kaura, MD and CEO, Samtel Avionics said: "We are elated to announce this partnership with Hanwha Systems. We look forward to a long term relationship in the field of product development for various new defence technologies in Optronics, Combat Management Systems (CMS), system engineering technology, and sensor-armament".
In 2016, Hanwha Systems was selected as the developer for the Active Electronically-Scanned Array (AESA) radar for the next-generation Korean fighter (KF-X) along with the mission computer and Large Area Display (LAD).
It also signed contracts to export naval Combat Management System to Malaysia and supplied surveillance reconnaissance systems to Indonesia.
