Sankatmochan temple 'mahant' Virbhadra Mishra passes away

Noted environmentalist and 'mahant' of Sankatmochan temple Prof. Virbhadra Mishra died today at Sundar Lal hospital, where he was admitted on March 3 for lung infection.
He was 75 years old.
Mishra is survived by his wife, two sons and two daughters.
Mishra's final rites will take place tomorrow at Harishchandra ghat, his son Dr Vishambharnath Mishra said.
Mishra was selected for a government panel to review projects on river Ganges and played a active role in the Save Ganga Movement over past few decades.
