MJ will be introduced in "The Amazing Spider-Man 3" following Marc Webb's decision to "streamline the story and focus on Peter and Gwen and their relationship" for the second film, reported Ace Showbiz.
Earlier, Shailene Woodley was set to star as MJ in "Amazing Spider-Man 2".
Woodley, who only shot around three scenes, said she felt "bummed" after dropped from the film. Even so, she respected Webb's "need for holding off on introducing MJ until the next film."
"MJ only appeared in a few scenes and I wouldn't trade the experience of working with Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone for three days on set for the world," she said.
