Sarjubala (48kg) defeated Kazakhstan's Alina Turlubayeva 2-0 to march into the semfinals, where she will be up against home girl E Naiyan.
Other Indians making the last four stage were Meena Kumari Devi (54kg), Pwilao Basumatary (57kg), Pooja Rani (75kg), Saweety (81kg) and Seema Poonia (81+kg).
Meena triumphed over the more fancied and home favourite Liu Piaopiao, while Basumatary got the better of Kazakhstan's Zhanna Baskayeva 2-1.
Earlier, Commonwealth Games brone-medallist Pinki Rani (51kg), Priyanka Chaudhary (60kg), Monica Saun (69kg) and Pavitra (64kg) lost their respective preliminary bouts to bow out of the competition.
