In the women's singles event of the USD 15,000 tournament, orgainsed by the Prakash Padukone Badminton Academy (PPBA), Simone Prutsch of Austria (world ranked 71) is the top seed while India's challenge will be spearheaded by current National Champion Sayali Gokhale and former Tata Open winner PC Thulasi.
In the men's doubles competition, the star attraction will be one of the best doubles and mixed doubles player of the world and London Olympic bronzer medallist, Lee Yong Dae of Korea.
Also in the fray are Malaysians Nelson Wei Keat Heg and Ee Yi Teo, who are seeded fourth. India will be represented in the men's doubles by the pairs of Arun Vishnu/Tarun Kona and Pranav Chopra/Akshay Dewalkar.
Indonesia with 30 players, Malaysia with 19 players, Chinese Taipei with 18 players and Korea with 17 players are the main contenders along with India with 91 players.
