Capital market regulator Sebi has commissioned a survey to understand investment habits of individuals and households.
The household survey would be carried out by Nielsen India Pvt Ltd and the information collected from respondents would be "kept strictly confidential," Sebi said in a release.
'Sebi Investor Survey 2015' aims to collect information on socio-economic parameters, savings and investment behaviour, reasons for non-investment in securities market and relation of risks with investment behaviour.
Besides, the exercise would gather details on "impact of investor education programmes, awareness on grievance redress mechanism, interface between investor and market participants, impact of regulatory policies," among other factors, the release said.
The Sebi Investor Survey 2015 follows three other surveys it had commissioned earlier on how households save and invest. The last such survey, by NCAER, was released in January 2012.
