Industry Minister Partha Chatterjee told reporters today that all companies in the state, including Tata Ryerson, Tata Ceramic and Tata Consultancy Services, have been invited.
"We have invited 210 industrialists to participate. We want to showcase the pace of development in Haldia, besides it potential for further growth," he said.
An important trade delegation from Singapore, led by Singapore Chambers of Commerce and a minister from Indonesia have expressed willingness to participate, he said.
All the industry chambers in Kolkata have agreed to share responsibility to conduct seminars at the event, Chatterjee said, adding, "The CM will meet all chambers on January 9 to finalise various activities."
While CII would take responsibility for organising seminars on health and manufacturing, ICC would take care of infrastructure, agro-food and food processing industries.
Assocham will organise sessions on MSME sectors and Ficci on the textile and jute. IT and tourism will be organised by BCCI and North Bengal, while tourism by the Calcutta Chamber of Commerce, Chatterjee said.
Stressing on the importance of Haldia, Chatterjee said that the state government has made a plea to the Centre to lift the ban to set up more industries there as pollution control norms have been complied with.
